A Poem for the Sun and Earth

The sun burns relentlessly, desperately

And the earth, this precious blue orb,

Accepts this warmth and turns the energy into life

Do you think the sun doesn’t see this magic?

The earth, while seeing other planets, other stars

Can imagine another life

But knows the relationship, this third thing,

Is what is the most special

And so sometimes must a break from life,

Protects its crust, Freeze over,

Reflect the loving energy back into space

You don’t think the sun sees this?

But it also knows that the relentless energy

Sent the earth’s way

Will thaw the crust, and bring back spring
