Philosophy
Every book is a bible.
Every book is an attempt to make sense of the world, full of wisdom and it's own philosophy and a mode for living. Even the ones we don't like, especially the ones we don't like. I believe that we need that ecosystem of books and stories that speak to everyone, that help people connect with feelings and philosophies that they can't explain on their own.
So then, what are we looking for?
I believe we're looking for the summation of all those stories and books. I believe we are looking for humanity's golden mean. Where we continue to survive and expand and grow as individuals connected to a larger community.
The role of fiction and the stories we tell will be to help us quell individual loneliness better understand people and connect us to the permutation of events and experiences that we recognize as deeply human. Stories are machines that create feelings and, in the best cases, a new framework to see the world.
As we experience more and more stories from untold perspectives, we will feel less alone and more accurately develop an understanding of the people that live in the world around us.
This greater understanding offers us the promise of peace, of working together to survive the imminent threats to our world, at current seem to be largely environmental, but will extend to the ability to escape the eventual heat death of the universe.
And books are our key.
